A fellow crafter and MBMBaM fan over on facebook was looking for a crochet pattern for the
Bureau of Balance bracer. We found a pattern for a knitted version on Ravelery but there didn't seem to be a crochet version out there.
I had a spare afternoon so I made one up.
I thought I'd post up the pattern so that any other MBMBaMinos and Adventure zone fan can make one if they want.
**** please note this is written in UK abbreviations to change to US abbreviations swap the dc for sc****
Bureau of Balance bracer

You will need
Yarn: 50g Dk (light worsted)
weight yarn in grey
4mm (f/5)
pins
Wool needle
Abbreviations (UK)
Ch –
chain
Sl st
–slip stitch
dc –
double crochet
st/sts –
stitch/stitches
dc2tog –
double crochet the next two stitches together
Bottom cuff
Make one in
grey yarn
Ch 5
Row
2-34: ch1, turn, dc in each st to end
Ch1
Turn and
work along the side of the cuff. Dc in each row end, sl st to form circle.
34sts
Work
continues in the round.
Rnd 1-20: dc in each st to end
Fasten off.
Sew closed the small seam on the cuff. Weave in any loose ends.
Top cuff
Make one in
grey yarn
Ch5
Row 1: dc in 2nd ch from
hook, dc in each st to end. 4sts
Row 13: ch1.
Turn, 2dc in first st, dc in each st to end. 5sts
Row 14: ch1, turn, dc in each st to
end. 5sts
Row 15: ch1. Turn, 2dc in first st, dc
in each st to end. 6sts
Row 16: ch1, turn, dc in each st to
end. 6sts
Row 17: ch1. Turn, 2dc in first st, dc
in each st to end. 7sts
Row
19: dc in each st to last two sts, dc2tog. 6sts
Row 20: ch1, turn, dc in each st to
end. 6sts
Row 21: dc in each st to last two sts,
dc2tog. 5sts
Row 22: ch1, turn, dc in each st to
end. 5sts
Row 23: dc in each st to last two sts,
dc2tog. 4sts
Row 24-34: ch1, turn, dc in each st to
end. 4st
Fasten off.
Sew the top cuff to the bottom cuff so that the open seam is at the center
back. Sew up open seam
Decoration
Make two in
grey yarn
Ch 31
Row 1: sl st
in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each st to end. 30sts
Fasten off.
Pin in
place.
The short
sides are five stitches long and the diagonals are ten stitches long.
When happy
with the design sew in place.
Weave in and
cut off any loose ends to finish.
