Advent calender day twelve

Bit of a different pattern set today but these make such great Christmas presents I had to include them in the advent calender. This isn't just one pattern but four that make up this pretty wash set. two types of was cloth plus a shower scrubby and a soap net. Add some lovely smellies and you've a Christmas gift in an instant.

You will need;

Cotton DK weight yarn in your choice of colours

4mm crochet hook

Small bar of soap

Wool needle

Stitches and Abbreviations

Sl st –slip stitch

dc – double crochet

htr – half treble crochet

tr – treble crochet

dtr – double treble crochet

Bath scrubby

Starting in your choice of cotton yarn and make a magic ring and work 6dc into the ring. Six sts

Rnd 1: 2dc into each st to the end. 12sts

Rnd 2-6: ch 3, 2dtr in each st to the end. 384sts at end of rnd 6

Ch 40 dc in base of ch to form hanging loop.

Fasten off weave in and cut off any loose ends.

Row 1: dc in 2^nd ch from hook, dc in each st along Ch. 46sts

Row 2-46: ch 1, turn, dc in each st to the end. 46 sts

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends

Make one in your choice of yarn

Ch 47

Row 1: dc in 2nd ch from hook, tr in next ch st, (dc in next ch st, tr in next ch st) repeat to end of chain. 46sts

Row 2-46: ch1, turn, (dc in the next st, tr in the next st) repeat to end of row. 46sts

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Soap saver

Make one in your choice of yarn

Ch 42

Row 1: dc in 10^th ch from the hook, (ch5, skip the next 3 ch sts, dc in the next ch st) repeat to end of ch.

Row 2: ch 6,turn, (dc in next ch space, ch 5)repeat to last ch space, dc in last ch sp, ch 2, tr in the 4^th ch st of the first 9 ch space from row 1.

Row 3: ch 6, turn dc in the first 5ch sp, (ch5, dc in th next ch sp) repeat to end.

Row 4: work as for row 2 ending with tr in last ch space.

Repeat last 2 rows until the rectangle is big enough to wrap around your bar of soap.

Fasten off, fold in half and sew the top and the bottom closed around your soap bar. Use the photo as a guide to attach wooden buttons to the long side of the bag and use the loops created in the stitch fasten around the bar of soap to finish.
