advent calender day 16

It defiantly getting cold now and we all need something to warm us up. Today I've come up with a pattern for a beret. I love wearing hats and this chilly weather is the perfect excuse to make yourself something new.

You will need;

Chunky weight yarn in your choice of colour (James c Brett marble chunky used in sample)

6.5mm crochet hook

Wool needle

Stitches and Abbreviations

Sl st –slip stitch

dc – double crochet

tr – teble crochet

tr2tog – treble crochet two stiches together

Ch 4, sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: ch 2 counts as first tr, eleven tr into the ring, sl st to join. 12sts

Rnd 2: ch2 counts as first tr, 2tr into each st to the end sl st to join,. 24sts

Rnd 3: ch2 counts as first tr,(tr in the first st, 2tr in the next st) repeat to end sl st to join. 36sts

Rnd 4: ch2 counts as first tr (tr in the first two sts, 2tr in the next st) repeat to end sl st to join. 48sts

Rnd 5: ch2 counts as first tr (tr in the first three sts, 2tr in the next st) repeat to end sl st to join. 60sts

Rnd 6: ch2 counts as first tr (tr in the first four sts, 2tr in the next st) repeat to end sl st to join. 72sts

Rnd 7: ch2 counts as first tr (tr in the first five sts, 2tr in the next st) repeat to end sl st to join. 84sts

Rnd 8: ch2 counts as first tr (tr in the first six sts, 2tr in the next st) repeat to end sl st to join. 96sts

Rnd 9: ch2 counts as first tr (tr in the first seven sts, 2tr in the next st) repeat to end sl st to join. 108sts

Rnd 10-12: ch 2 count s as first tr, tr in each st to the end, sl st to join. 108 sts

Rnd 13: ch 2 (tr2tog, tr in the next seven sts) repeat to end, sl st to join 96 sts

Rnd 14: ch 2, (tr2tog, tr in the next six sts) repeat to end, sl st to join. 84sts

Rnd 15: ch 2, (tr2tog, tr in the next five sts) repeat to end, sl st to join. 72sts

Rnd 16: ch 2, (tr2tog, tr in the next four sts) repeat to end, sl st to join. 60sts

Rnd 17: ch 2, (tr2tog, tr in the next three sts) repeat to end, sl st to join. 48sts

Rnd 18-19: ch 1 dc in each st to the end. 48sts.

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends to finish.
