Advent calender 9

Normally in my family we can't put up our Christmas tree until after my sisters birthday on the 8th of December so in honor of that tradition today's pattern is for a little amigurumi Christmas tree.

You may notice the Christmas presents from day 6 in this photo aswell :)

You will need;
Cotton DK weight yarn in green and brown
3.5mm crochet hook
Wool needle
Ribbon

Stitches and Abbreviations
Ch - chain
Sl st –slip stitch
dc – double crochet
BLO – work in back loop only

Tree
Starting in green yarn and work each stitch in BLO through the pattern until told to stop, make a magic ring and work 4dc into the ring. 4 sts
Rnd 1: (dc in the first two sts, 2dc in the next st) repeat to end. 6sts
Rnd 2-12: 2dc in the first two sts, dc in each st to the end. 30sts at end of rnd 12
Rnd 13: (dc2tog, dc in the next three sts) repeat to end. 24sts stop working in BLO now
Rnd 14: (dc2tog, dc in next two sts) repeat to end. 18sts
Rnd 15: (dc2tog, dc in next st) repeat to end.           12sts

Stuff firmly now

Rnd 15: (dc2tog) repeat to end                                    6sts

Fasten off and sew closed the hole at the bottom of the tree.

Create the leaves
Re-join to round 1 with matching yarn to the loop created by work in BLO st.

Rnd 1- 12: (ch2, dc) in each st to the end.

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends

Base

Starting in brown yarn and make a magic ring and work 6dc into the ring. Six sts
Rnd 1: 2dc into each st to the end. 12sts
Rnd 2: working in BLO throughout dc in each st to the end. 12sts
Rnd 3-4: dc in each st to the end. 12 sts

Fasten off, stuff and sew in place at the bottom of the tree.

Decorate with a star button or cut a star out of felt on the top of the tree.
