froggy

I'm writing this in the first moment of peace I've had all morning. The kittens are asleep and I can finally type without little paws running across the keyboard. I can't believe how much the kittens have come along in the last week, they are all really confident and inquisitive. I am under attack at all times when they are awake as they love to play. One of there favourite games is to climb the my legs in the most painful way possible. I've been meeting lovely family's all week and now have forever homes for 4 of them.

Crafting with the kittens around has been nearly impossible. I wanted to get the fat friends pattern set complete and had meant to finish it with a rhino. I had to scrap that idea as the lack of face shape in the fat friends just didn't work for a rino. Someone on my facebook page suggested a frog, not something I had thought about before as I have a slight fear of frogs but i thought I'd give it a go.

Most of my work is crochet but when I need a hard surface to do the face details I tend to work with a big book on my knee while sat on the sofa rather than at my desk. Its a realising way to work even if I am being judged by grumpy kitten at the same time. The area under the book its the kittens favourite hiding space and fought over regularly (not fun when you are needle felting felt onto a froggy face)

My tubby little boy giving me a look of utter bliss. I needed to get some more felt but how could I move and disturb this little monster.
Little froggy did finally get finished and I'm really happy with him. I think he just right to finish the pattern set.
There are now 5 pastel and 5 bright fat friends.
I can't even take a photo without on of the kittens getting in on the shot.
I'm linking in with handmade monday

  1. i know just what you are going through, we had 4 darling kittens running around during may and june. My legs felt and looked as if they were a pincushion with them all running over and playing on them. I loved every minute of it though as they are so gorgeous. We ended up keeping one too

    1. I know I souldn't moan, I'll miss them when they are gone and they are just too cute to ever get mad at but I am thinking of inventing some sort of padded leg warmers for kitty claw protection :)

  2. Lovely pics of the kittens and I love the frog too. I like frogs, I have a garden full of them - although a newish kitten next door thinks the frogs are there for his dinner (and pre-dinner entertainment). I don't suppose I can be *too* upset, he is very cute and that's what cats do, I guess.

  3. The fat friends are really cute, as are the kittens. Could you do a fat kitten in tribute to your feline friends? x

  5. The fat friends are have really come out well. I think they will be a hit. The kittens are so cute too...I suggest a long bathrobe for the kittens... they can climb and you get your legs protected, :-)

    1. A bathrobe is the worst defence as they like the legs under the the robe not the robe itself. Its my own fault bengals are one of the smartist cats :)

  8. I think the frog finishes off the fat friends perfectly. The colour is just right and we always seem to think of frogs as fat too. Brilliant.

  10. My favourite pic is the one with the kittens and all the fat friends, which are fab by the way. I can imagine how hard it is to even type on a keyboard with them around. I still struggle with a 4 and 6 year old, but kittens would definitely be worse. Lovely little things :-)

  17. It's a wonder you get anything done with that little cutie sitting on your lap and generally distracting you. Froggie looks lovely with all his family.
